Teaching Philosophy
Randy offers comprehensive music instruction in voice and/or piano. This includes singing/playing, theory, analyzation, ear training, listening, and performance. He firmly believes that music demonstrates hard work, glorious talent, nourishes the soul, and adds true beauty to all who experience it. Randy is committed to focusing instruction on meeting the learner’s goals and objectives. Please express these goals to Randy as they arise and/or whenever possible.
Randy happily has an open door studio policy. Parents, family members, other students, etc., are welcome to view and listen to students' lessons.

Availability: mornings through evenings on most weekdays and weekends.
Regularly scheduled lessons are once per week; however, they can be scheduled as frequently as desired. Lessons should be no less than two times per month. In lieu of busy schedules, Randy is very flexible in scheduling. (When not scheduling in person, text message is the best way to do this.)
Voice and piano lessons can come to you! Lessons are available in your home. There is an additional fee for this service and the amount is specific to each situation (travel time, mileage, etc.). Please contact Randy for an exact amount. (Regular lesson fees apply.)

Studio Lesson Fees & Payments
All music genres are available for study. Included, but not limited to, are the historical periods (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, etc.), world language pieces, art/folk, sacred, secular, jazz, contemporary, musical theatre, blues, gospel, popular music, and all other genres.
Lesson fees also pay for material copies and print music used in lessons.
Students are required to bring all music and materials to every lesson.
Marking music (making notes on sheet music as to what has been worked on and learned in lessons) is absolutely best practice and should always be done without fail.

30 minute lessons are $30;
45 minute lessons are $35; and,
60 minute lessons are $40.
Payment options are cash, check (payable to Randy Hise), or Venmo.
Full payment and due dates are mutually agreement upon by both parties. Options include (but are not limited to) payment at the start of every individual lesson, the first lesson for that month's scheduled lessons, or upon invoice receipt for that month's lessons. Cash or check payments may be hand delivered or US postal mailed.
If you desire lesson/attendance/payment statements (sent via US postal mail, fax, or email), please make a request. (There is no charge for this service.)

In order to ensure a great match between student and teacher, the FIRST LESSON IS FREE! (Trial lesson length is roughly 30-45 minutes.)
